The Entheogenic Word of Wisdom

The Word of Wisdom is a hallmark of most sects of Mormonism. I decided to try my hand at modifying it to be more conducive to the Entheogenic point of view. In this version alcohol is prohibited using language Joseph Smith used regarding the Nauvoo-era temperance law. In its place roots and herbs are elevated, again using this same language. It consolidates and simplifies what a healthy diet should look like. And then lastly it shows that health, including spiritual health, will be given to those that adhere to it.

In consequence of evils and designs which exist in the hearts of conspiring people in these days, all are forewarned by being given this word of wisdom by revelation.

A. Alcohol is unnecessary and operates as a poison in the stomach; roots and herbs can be found to effect all necessary purposes.

B. All wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution and nature and use of man. Every herb should be consumed in the season thereof and every fruit in the season thereof, all these to be used with prudence and thanksgiving

C. Nevertheless, be not accustomed to that which is injurious to the body.

A. The flesh of beast and of fowls is ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving. Nevertheless, they are to be consumed sparingly, for all grain is to be the staff of life.

B. All grain is for the use of man, of beasts, of fowls, and all wild animals that run or creep on the earth.

C. All fruits and vegetables are good for the use of man.

A. All saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to this principle which is sent by greeting and not constraint, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones. They shall shall run and not be weary, and walk and not faint. I the Lord give unto them a promise that the destroying angel shall pass them by not slay them.

B. They shall find wisdom and great treasures of wisdom and knowledge, even hidden treasures.
