Disclaimer: This chart was developed by a non-Native, endosex, polyamorous, transgender, bisexual, panromantic woman. I have tried my best to describe and illustrate these terms for those who are unfamiliar with them, but when you are actually a part of these communities there is MUCH more nuance.

Sexual Orientation: Who you are sexually attracted to

Allosexual: You are sexually attracted to other people

Monosexual: You are only sexually attracted to one gender

Homosexual: You are only sexually attracted to the same gender as you

Ceterosexual: You are only sexually attracted to non-binary people

Heterosexual: You are sexually attracted to the opposite binary gender

Multisexual: You are attracted to multiple genders (it should be noted that all terms under this umbrella often overlap with each other)

Bisexual: You are sexually attracted to 2 or more genders

Pansexual: You are sexually attracted to people regardless of their gender

Omnisexual: You are sexually attracted to all genders

Asexual: You do not experience sexual attraction to others

(Asexual) Sex-negative: You are asexual and do not like having sex

(Asexual) Sex-Neutral: You are asexual and are indifferent towards having sex

(Asexual) Sex-Positive: You are asexual and like having sex

Demisexual: You are sexually attracted to people only once an emotional connection is made

Fraysexual: You are sexually attracted to people you do not have an emotional connection to

Graysexual: You rarely experience sexual attraction

Romantic Orientation: Who you are romantically attracted to

Alloromantic: You are romantically attracted to other people

Monoromantic: You are only romantically attracted to one gender

Homoromantic: You are only romantically attracted to the same gender as you

Ceteroromantic: You are only romantically attracted to non-binary people

Heteroromantic: You are romantically attracted to the opposite binary gender

Frayromantic: You are romantically attracted to people you do not have an emotional connection to

Grayromantic: You rarely experience romantic attraction

2-Spirit:

A term specifically created to distinguish and distance queer Native American/First Nations people from non-Native peoples. It has a broad and culturally significant definition, and cannot be easily defined or explained by non-Native people. Further information can be found here.

Sex: What the sexual anatomy of the body is

Intersex: Your body does not exclusively conform to one of the binaries

Endosex: Your body conforms to one of the binaries

Relationships: How you organize your connections with other people

Polyamory: You have multiple partners at once, but they aren’t necessarily with each other

Poly-fidelity: You have multiple partners at once, and they are all only with each other

Relationship Anarchy: You may have multiple partners at once, but no labels and/or expectations are applied to them.

Monogamous: You only have one partner

Gender: The social construct you have an affinity for which is typically indicated by behaviors, expressions, roles, and identity

Trans: You do not identify with the gender you were given at birth

Cis: Your gender aligns with the gender you were assigned at birth

Trans: Your gender does not align with the gender you were assigned at birth

Binary: You are exclusively a man or woman

Non-Binary: You fall outside of being exclusively a part of the gender binary

Demi-Boy: You have a weak or varying level of affinity for masculinity

Multigender: You are multiple genders at once

Genderfluid: Your gender changes over time

Bigender: You are 2 or more genders at once

Demi-Girl: You have a weak or varying level of affinity for femininity

Agender: You do not have an affinity for any gender
