At Universal Mormon Church last week someone brought up a familiar concept: eternal progression. This is a concept that many of us have heard over and over again, but it was given a twist that revealed some implications that I’ve rarely seen talked about.
“Eternal Progression” implies that perfection simply doesn’t exist, because by its nature we’re always improving. If we take that line of thought, we can see God as a being that is still learning, growing, and improving and isn’t perfect (because perfection doesn’t exist).
I think I can relate to a Divine being that isn’t perfect but is working to better themselves much more than I can to some sort of a caricature.
