I’m working on a project that involves CoC’s D&C and I came across D&C 90:6F (LDS D&C 93:43). The verses leading up to this talk about how its important to raise your children so they have a relationship with the Divine, and how Fredrick G. Williams wasn’t doing this. The verse in question then says:
And now a commandment I give unto you, if you will be delivered: you shall set in order your own house, for there are many things that are not right in your house.
In short, this says
get your shit together!
I thought it was funny phrasing it that way. Its a phrasing that everyone is familiar with, but you don’t seen in scripture because it is irreverent. I find that juxtaposition funny
