In a post-Mormon Facebook group someone was starting unfounded outrage about the cost of the Provo temple renovation with 3rd hand anecdotal information. Someone responded and said that she worked for the City of Provo and that the building permit information was public domain. So theoretically you should be able to access information on the construction validation of a temple project as it is required for the building permit.
On a whim I called the City of Calgary building permit people. The permit for the construction of the Calgary Alberta Temple was CAD$24.5 million.
The implication of this is staggering. Depending on jurisdiction it should be possible to compile temple construction and renovation costs. Definitely from Canada and the US.
